2026 – Week #6

Peaking.

My long run has peaked at 30km for the first time. Ran from Kwun Tong to TST Clocktower. I would consider that a pretty decent car ride, and now I can actually run that length...it's crazy.

I've been so focused on my training and chasing certain metrics that I haven't had the time to reflect back on what's actually been accomplished. It's so easy to get into comparison mode on social media. A friend running a sub-3 marathon or another friend running over 50km. I have to remind myself my run journey only really started last summer, and it's been more off than on. I also have to remind myself that "comparison is the thief of joy" - that the only person I should compare myself to is my past self.

Comparing to my past self, that couldn't even do 2km at a 10 min pace...I'm so happy to meet this length in training for my first full marathon.

30...km. That's 18.6 miles. Wow.

I'm proud of myself and how far I've come. How many hours I've devoted to this goal. I'll take it easy the next several days. The last 5km were brutal and was basically walking it...but at least I finished.

At least I finished.
