This week was marked by a few wins:
- First orders from SOFTIES, ramping our marketing infra and strategy
- Hitting 4 runs this week for the first time, running 18 km (11 miles in yankee doodle) and not breaking the next day
Softies
Softies is going great! I'm so grateful for the support that we have. It's very endearing and humbling to see people purchasing product from us.
I feel it's sometimes easy to romanticize instantly selling out a product launch, being in big box retailers and having celebrity endorsements. Maybe those things will come to us in due time. Maybe not. But for now, basking in the idea that "we did that" - turning 0 into 1 - is an amazing feeling.
I also feel there's a certain level of grit and grind that being "independent" has, and subsequently a certain level of self-respect that comes from it. What I mean by "independent" is having no investors, no strategic advisors, no backing from anyone larger than ourselves. It's just us (team of 3, including me and Karen) - and our vendors (manufacturer, 3PL). Maybe we'll have investors in the future. Maybe not. But for now, "we did that by ourselves" is a great feeling.

Running
Hitting 4 runs this week was a major step forward in my fitness. First time ever in my life. Hitting my 18 km long run and not absolutely folding was amazing. Last time I hit 19 km, the next 2 days were terrible - fatigue, headaches, and a feeling of defeat. It made me take a break in my training. So hitting 18 km and being able to continue the day is a turning point in my marathon journey. Total weekly mileage is roughly 38 km. Let's keep going.

Generally speaking, I'm realizing how beneficial my meditation and journaling really are. I am my biggest productivity enemy. Calming the mind, training the body and staying off of social media is the remedy.
